The Westerner Model is an attractive, no nonsense rod that is designed for fishing the bigger western waters. This 8-foot rod for a 6-weight line can handle the wind and can go for distance when needed. The larger, weight-forward grip is comfortable even after hours on the river. A cork reel seat, with hooded butt cap and ring provides for a secure attachment of the reel. The Mildrum stripping guide and bronze snake guides are typically wrapped with a mahogany brown thread. Hand-planed sections are made from oven-tempered bamboo which gives the flyrod a rich caramel color.
This rod was developed after input from western fishermen as to what they preferred in a trout rod.
